Justin Braun has announced his retirement from professional hockey after 13 NHL seasons.

Braun played in 842 NHL games over 13 seasons and picked up 34 goals, 199 points, 317 PIMs and 1093 shots but has announced his retirement from professional hockey Monday. The 36-year-old played in 51 games for the Philadelphia Flyers in 2022-23, picking up two assists, 42 SOG, 19 PIMs and a -1 plus/minus.

Braun has been a healthy scratch since March 11th and will draw back into the lineup Tuesday as the Flyers take on the Canadiens. The 36-year-old stay-at-home defenseman has two assists, 35 SOG, 19 PIMs and a -1 plus/minus through 44 games this season.

The Flyers will return to the ice for the first time in 10 days after a COVID-19 outbreak but will do so without six regulars. Braun, Claude Giroux, Jakub Voracek, Travis Konecny, Oskar Lindblom and Scott Laughton will all miss Tuesday's game against the Rangers.
