Gustavsson allowed one goal on 23 shots in the Oilers’ win in Detroit on November 6th. Gustavsson didn’t last long in his first Oilers appearance, but he was impressive in Detroit and will look to snap a four-game losing streak for the Oilers tonight. He’ll take on a Kings team who are on a four-game skid of their own.
Gustavsson only made one save in his Oilers debut before getting injured in a collision with defenseman Adam Larsson. With Gustavsson sidelined, Laurent Brossoit was recalled from the AHL and will backup Cam Talbot on Tuesday.
Gustavsson, 31, appeared in 24 games with the Bruins last season, posting an 11-9-1 record, 2.72 GAA and .908 SV%. When he came to the NHL it was believed he had starter potential, but he has turned into a career backup and this season he will play behind Cam Talbot in Edmonton.
