Lupul (sports hernia) has not been cleared for the start of training camp.

Lupul missed 36 games last season and has been sidelined since February 6th with a sports hernia. Lupul has had a very difficult time staying healthy, so this is nothing new for him. His injury leaves a roster spot open for one of the Maple Leafs’ many prospects to make the opening night roster.

Lupul (lower-body) is expected to return to the Maple Leafs lineup on Tuesday.

Lupul has missed the last five games with a lower-body injury, but will be back in the lineup for Brad Boyes tonight v.s Tampa Bay. Lupul will start on the third line, but could move up into the top-6 if he plays well. He has eight goals and three assists (11 points) in 23 games this season.

Lupul missed Sunday’s practice and is expected to be held out of Monday’s contest with an undisclosed injury. The Maple Leafs did not reveal the nature or severity of the injury, but it is not believed to be serious. Expect Daniel Winnik to replace Lupul.

Lupul missed the last four games with a lower-body injury, but will be back in tonight vs. Winnipeg. Lupul is expected to replace Brandon Kozun and should skate in the Leafs top-6. He has 19 points (9G / 10A) in 32 games this season.

Lupul will miss his third consecutive game with a lower-body injury. There is no word on when he is expected to return to the lineup, but he has yet to practice with the team. He diid however skate on his own before the Leafs practice on Monday.

Lupul reportedly returned too early from his lower-body injury and it continues to linger. He will be held out of at least the next two games, but with the Leafs season pretty much over, look for them to hold him out until he is fully healed this time around.

Lupul has not played since December 31st, but will return to the lineup tonight vs. the Coyotes. The Maple Leafs offence has been a disaster as of late, but Lupul should provide a much needed spark tonight. He has 17 points (9G / 8A) in 26 games this season.

Lupul was on the ice again on Tuesday, but only skated on the Maple Leafs fourth line, which is a sign that he will not play tomorrow vs. the Devils. Monitor his status during the Maple Leafs game day skate tomorrow morning.

Lupul suffered a lower-body injury in the Maple Leafs win over the Bruins on Wednesday night. There is no word on how long the Leafs expect Lupul to be out for, but he is no stranger to the IR to this point in his career. Expect a more detailed injury report to be released on Friday.

The Maple Leafs have moved Joffrey Lupul to the top-line.

Coming off of their first loss since December 4th, the Maple Leafs shuffled their lines at Friday’s practice. Lupul skated with Tyler Bozak and Phil Kessel while Daniel Winnik was dropped to the third line and James van Riemsdyk to the second line with Nazem Kadri. Lupul has recorded just one goal in his last five games, so this is an attempt to get him going again.

Lupul missed the last 12 games with a broken hand that he suffered on October 28th. He struggled before the injury, scoring just two goals and one assist in nine games. He has skated on the fourth line with Trevor Smith and David Booth over the last few days, so expect him to start there tomorrow vs. Pittsburgh.

Lupul continued to skate in a no-contact jersey on Friday morning, which suggests that he will not be available on Saturday. Lupul has missed the last 11 games with a broken hand he suffered on October 28th. Monitor his status during Saturday’s game day skate.

Maple Leafs’ head coach Randy Carlyle said that Lupul should go through two or three practices before returning to the lineup, so don’t expect to see him out there tomorrow, but maybe Saturday vs. the Red Wings. He has been out since October 28th.
