The Canucks have sent Richard Bachman to Utica (AHL).

Bachman gave up six goals on 29 shots in his only start with Vancouver this season. With Anders Nilsson returning as the Canucks backup tonight, Bachman heads to Utica, where he is 1-4-0 with a 4.23 GAA and .865 SV% this season.

The Canucks signed Richard Bachman to a two-year extension.

Bachman, 30, spent all of the 2018 season in Utica (AHL) where he went 13-13-0 with a 2.98 GAA and .902 SV%. Bachman is the fourth goalie on the Canucks’ depth chart behind Jacob Markstrom, Anders Nilsson and Thatcher Demko, so he isn’t expected to see any NHL action in 2019, barring something unforeseen.

Bachman will make his Canucks debut tonight vs. the Coyotes—the 28-year-old has spent the first five years of his career with the Stars and Oilers. Last season he was 3-2-0 with a 2.84 GAA and .911 SV%. He has posted a 17-14-2 record with a 2.93 GAA and .904 SV% in 30 starts and 12 relief appearances in his NHL career.

The Oilers have reassigned Richard Bachman to Oklahoma City (AHL).

Bachman made 25 saves on 27 shots in the Oilers win over the Kings last night and has won three in a row with a 1.00 GAA, .965 SV% and one shutout, but the Oilers had to send him down in order to make room for Laurent Brossoit, who has been recalled and will make his NHL debut on Thursday.

Bachman has won his last two games while stopping 58 of 59 shots (.983 SV%). Tonight he will take on an L.A team still fighting for a playoff spot—the Kings are 5-2-1 in their last eight games.

Bachman stopped all 29 shots that he faced in the Oilers 4-0 shutout win over the Stars on Friday. It was a surprising performance to say the least, but it certainly earned him the nod tonight vs. the Avalanche. Colorado ranks 16th in the NHL in goals scored on home ice this season.

Bachman allowed two goals and 21 shots after replacing Ben Scrivens in the Oilers 6-2 loss to the Penguins on March 12th. He only has one start this season, he allowed six goals that night. Overall he is 0-2-0 with a 5.27 GAA and .854 SV% with the Oilers this season. He should be left on free agency tonight.
