Lindback’s call-up is likely just a paper transaction with Juuse Saros going down to get some starts during the Predators bye week.

Lindback came up to backup Pekka Rinne last Thursday with Juuse Saros getting two AHL games in over the weekend. Lindback goes back to the Admirals, where he is 11-5-0 with a 2.43 GAA and .923 SV% this season.

He has played for the Lightning, Stars, Sabres and Coyotes over the last three years and he went 5-7-1 with a 3.11 GAA and .894 SV% in 19 games with Arizona last year. With Jonathan Quick out, the Kings are desperately searching for some help in net.

Lindback suffered an upper-body injury before Tuesday’s game and his season is in jeopardy. The Coyotes have not announced a timetable for his return, but he is not expected to return anytime soon.

Lindback was excellent on Sunday, stopping 38 of 39 shots in the 2-1 OT win in Colorado. Lindback has been so inconsistent this year and for most of his NHL career—he sits at 2-1-1 with a 3.43 GAA and .885 SV% in December. His unpredictability and a matchup against the defending Stanley Cup Champions makes Lindback a scary option on Tuesday.

Lindback allowed five goals on 33 shots in the Coyotes loss to Carolina on Saturday. With Mike Smith out for at least the next eight weeks, Lindback will continue to start tonight vs. the Blue Jackets. Lindback is 4-5-1 with a 2.92 GAA and .900 SV%—how he plays will determine how many starts he gets and if the Coyotes bring someone else in.

Lindback allowed five goals on 18 shots in the Coyotes loss in Carolina on Sunday. With Mike Smith banged up, Lindback will start tonight vs. the Wild. Lindback has just one win in his last four starts while posting a 3.68 GAA and .877 SV%. He is a risky start whenever he gets the call and I would be avoiding him on Friday.

Lindback allowed two goals on 28 shots after replacing Mike Smith in the Coyotes loss in Detroit on Thursday. Lindback has gone 3-4-0 with a 2.62 GAA and .913 SV% in five starts and four relief appearances this season. He could be an interesting spot-start option on Sunday when he takes on the 9-13-4 Hurricanes.

Lindback allowed four goals on 31 shots in the Coyotes loss in Brooklyn on Monday. It was a rough outing for Lindback, who is expected to start tonight because Mike Smith is questionable with a lower-body injury. Lindback is 2-3-0 with a 2.41 GAA and .915 SV% in three starts and three relief appearances.
