Laich has cleared waivers and been assigned to Ontario (AHL).
The veteran picked up one assist in 12 games with the Kings this season, but will head back to the AHL, where he collected nine points (1G / 8A) in 27 games with the Toronto Marlies last season.

The Maple Leafs have sent Brooks Laich to Toronto (AHL).
Laich had seven points (1G / 6A) in 21 games with the Maple Leafs last year, equalling his total from the first 60 games of the year with Washington. The veteran seemed to have found a nice fit in Toronto, but the youth movement has forced him back to the AHL for the first time since 2005-06.
The Maple Leafs have acquired Brooks Laich, Connor Carrick and a 2016 2nd round pick from the Capitals for Daniel Winnik and a 2016 5th round pick.

Laich is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.
Laich suffered an upper-body injury last night vs. the Stars and is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Bruins. Laich joins a lengthy list of injured Capitals centres.
Laich (shoulder) will be back in the lineup on Friday.
Laich has missed the eight games with a shoulder injury, but he will be back in tonight vs. the Islanders. Laich is extremely injury prone and has been limited to six games this season. He is expected to skate on the fourth line left wing.

Laich will miss his second straight game and eighth game of the season tonight vs. Columbus. Laich has had a very difficult time staying healthy over the last few years. His inability to stay in the lineup makes him irrelevant in all fantasy formats.

Laich has been out since October 18th, when he suffered a shoulder injury vs. the Panthers. Laich has not been able to stay healthy for years, so this is not surprising at all. Consider him day-to-day.
The Capitals have placed Brooks Laich (upper-body) on injured reserve.
Laich was injured on Saturday and will not travel with the Capitals on their upcoming three game road-trip. He is expected to be back in the lineup in their first game back in Washington on October 29. Jay Beagle has been activated and will take Laich's spot.

Laich sat out Thursday's game, likely to rest his nagging groin ailment. However the Capitals will see how Laich is feeling during the morning skate on Saturday and then decide if he will play against the Coyotes.

There is no word on what is ailing Laich, if anything, but he is already on his way back to D.C while the Capitals are getting set to play in Boston. The recently acquired Chris Brown will take Laich's spot in the lineup.

Capitals head coach Adam Oates is not sure how Laich's groin will hold up tonight, so they will ease him in on the fourth line.
Laich (groin) will not play this afternoon.
Laich did not play a ton in Friday's loss to the Wings and will not play at all today. He will get an early jump on his Super Bowl party as he nurses a groin injury. Laich's inability of staying healthy cripples his fantasy value.
