New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that the club has recalled forwards Carl Hagelin and John Mitchell from the Connecticut Whale of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Hagelin gets the call and should draw into the lineup tonight. In his first professional season he scored seven goals and 13 points in 17 games with the Connecticut Whale. The team hopes he brings his speed to the bottom lines.
The Rangers trimmed their roster by eight this morning, down to 25, with defensemen Tim Erixon and Blake Parlett and forwards Ryan Bourque, Carl Hagelin, John Mitchell, Kris Newbury and Dale Weise being re-assigned to Connecticut (AHL).
