Dave Bolland News

The Coyotes acquired Dave Bolland and Lawson Crouse from the Panthers for a conditional third-round pick in 2017 and a conditional second-round pick in 2018.

Bolland was a part of this deal to free up cap space for the Panthers, cap space that the Coyotes have. Bolland will not be ready for the start of 2016-17 and may not play at all this season because of injury problems.

The Panthers have signed Dave Bolland to a five-year deal worth $27.5 million.

Bolland, 28, had a forgettable one-season in Toronto. Unfortunately, he suffered a severed Achilles tendon which limited him to just 23 games. After one year with the Leafs he hit the free-agent market and signed with the Panthers where he should find himself as a third-line centre behind Aleksander Barkov and Nick Bjugstad.

Bolland (ankle) is questionable for Tuesday.

Bolland is dealing with pain in the area where he had surgery to repair a severed tendon in his ankle. One would think maybe the Maple Leafs and Bolland rushed his return if he is dealing with significant pain in that surgically repaired area. If Bolland does not play tonight, expect him to be shut down for the rest of the season.

Bolland (ankle) has been activated from IR ahead of his return tonight in Toronto.

Bolland brings Stanley Cup experience to the Maple Leafs' lineup and will also solidify their third line. His return allows head coach Randy Carlyle to roll all four lines ore effectively, but don't expect Bolland to be flying around the ice tonight, this is a very difficult injury to come back from.

Bolland (ankle) is probable for tonight's game vs. the Canadiens.

Bolland has been sidelined since November 2nd with a severed tendon in his ankle. He will skate on a line with Mason Raymond and David Clarkson tonight when the Leafs host the Habs. Toronto is in the think of the Eastern Conference playoff race, so getting some Stanley Cup experience back in their lineup could prove to be pivotal. Expect the Leafs to ease Bolland back into the lineup, this is a difficult injury to come off of.
