Rau has scored two goals with three assists (five points) in four AHL games this season. Rau has 36 career NHL games under his belt, 33 with Florida and three with Minnesota last season. He’s spent the entire season in Iowa, where he ranks third on the team with 30 points (14G / 16A) through 45 games. Rau will likely replace J.T. Brown on the fourth line on Tuesday, after Brown was waived on Sunday.
Rau, 24, has played in 24 games with the Panthers this season, registering just two goals and one assist. He will swap places with Greg McKegg and heads back to Springfield, where he has no points in two games.
