The Sharks have placed Lean Bergmann on unconditional waivers for purpose of contract termination.

Bergmann came over from Germany in 2020 and has picked up just one assist in 13 NHL games since. He spent most of his time in the AHL, scoring 10 goals with 14 assists (24 points) in 63 games. He'll have his contract terminated so he can head back to Germany to play with Adler Mannheim (DEL).

Bergmann will make his season debut on Wednesday.

Bergmann appeared in 12 games with the Sharks in 2020 but has spent all of 2021 in the AHL. The 22-year-old forward has scored two goals with five assists in 32 AHL games this season. He will replace Jeffery Viel in the lineup on Wednesday.

The Sharks have recalled Lean Bergmann from San Jose (AHL).

Bergmann split the first month of the season between the NHL and AHL. He had one assist in six games with the Sharks and has picked up eight points (3G / 5A) in six games with the Barracuda. Bergmann takes Jonny Brodzinski's spot on the roster.
