It appears that we now know who the Seattle Kraken’s three goaltenders will be in the Expansion Draft.

According to Frank Seravalli, the team is selecting@Chris Driedger from the Panthers, @Vitek Vanecek from the Capitals, and @Joey Daccord from the Senators.

Driedger, an impending free agent, had been rumoured to be Seattle’s pick for quite some time. The team has been rumoured to be closing in on a three-year deal with Driedger worth $10.5 million.

A former third-round pick of the Ottawa Senators, the 27-year-old Dridger enjoyed a breakout season with the Florida Panthers in 2o21. Over 23 games sharing the net with @Sergei Bobrovsky, Driedger put up a .927 save percentage. With Bobrovsky’s unmovable contract and former first-round pick @Spencer Knight now in the mix it’s no surprise Florida let Dridger go.

Vanecek was Washington’s second-round pick in 2014 and made his NHL debut last season, posting a .908 save percentage in 37 games. He finished sixth in Calder Trophy voting and his entry-level contract has a cap hit of $716,667 for one more season.

Finally, there’s Daccord, Ottawa’s seventh-round pick from the 2015 draft. Daccord has put up a .894 save percentage over his first nine games in the NHL but had a strong showing in the AHL in 2019-20. He has two more years left on his entry-level deal with a $750,000 cap hit.
