Short Shifts
Notable line changes from around the NHL:
Chris Kunitz will undergo surgery for a torn abdominal muscle and will be out 4-6 weeks. How long until the Pens look for top-6 winger help? Michael Rupp is also questionable tonight after getting a puck in the face in practice. Sergei Gonchar will remain out of the lineup. Pens Lines
In a surprising move, Chris Campoli will sit out tonight in favour of Alex Picard. Sens Lines
No Kostitsyns tonight. Ryan O’Byrne is still out tending to personal issues. Habs Lines
If there was any doubt Alex Ovechkin and Alexander Semin would miss any time – rest easy. Mike Green’s status is questionable for tonight and will likely be a gametime decision. Mike Green is in. Eric Fehr will dress again and Boyd Gordon will sit. Tomas Fleischmann should line up at center tonight but no word on any new line combos. Caps Lines
Paul Kariya owners, keep him on your bench. Keith Tkachuk is questionable after dental surgery as a result of his 10th goal of the year. Blues Lines
Patrice Bergeron is also questionable out for tonight’s game after getting struck in the hand last night. Miroslav Satan will make his long-awaited (?) debut. We’ve slotted him on the top line but that’s no confirmation. Bruins Lines
Raffi Torres is questionable with the flu. Jackets Lines
It appears as if Rob Schremp’s stint on the top line is over based on the Islanders’ practice lines. More notably, Doug Weight is a fourth liner. Isles Lines
Ryan Getzlaf is targeting a return tonight vs. the Wings but his status is still questionable. Ducks Lines
Leaf fans will have to live without Mike Komisarek for another two games. Good news, though, John Mitchell is back up the middle. Leafs Lines
Henrik Zetterberg is questionable tonight but a return on Thursday is “more realistic”. Wings Lines
Cam Barker will not play tonight with an upper body injury. Niklas Hjalmarsson returns. Hawks Lines
Bryce Salvador is questionable for the Devils. Devils Lines
Nick Tarnasky is a healthy scratch tonight. Steve MacIntyre has been called up to take on Colton Orr and the Maple Leafs…again. Panthers Lines
Add Owen Nolan to the list of gametime decisions. Wild Lines
