SportsBetTech.com has developed a comprehensive, PRE-GAME analysis tool called the VAS or Value Assignment System. Each VAS report generates recommendations with respect to S/UTotals, and ATS (Puck Line/Run Line) betting positions for every game. But, while our VAS recommendations were good, Subscribers were losing money. How come? First, they were only focusing on winning more bets (e.g., 54.2%) than they lost and not on how the Money Lines affected the amount of money they actually won.  Second, there were too many VAS recommendations for Subscribers to adequately process themselves.

Following is a simple table that illustrates the relationship between # of Bets placed versus the AEML  (Average Effective Money Line).

The BE Win% is the minimum % of bets that you have to win to not lose money. If your AEML is -170, for either 1 or 2 bets, you have to win 100% of your bets.  (This table only addresses bets made in a single day, not cumulative over multiple days.) As you increase the number of bets and lower the AEML, you lower the BE Win%. In other words, the higher the AEML, the less money you make when you win, and the more bets you are required to win to cover losses. For example, if your AEML is -200, you have to win more than 2/3 of your bets to break even.

While this table is simple and easy to apply, it didn’t make it any easier to sift through the multiple VAS recommendations generated every day, so SportsBetTech.com created the MO’ MONEY PREMIUM Pick System . This system is proving to be very effective, because it limits the FAV Money Line to -200, and it only releases picks if there are at least 7.  The MO’ MONEY PREMIUM Picknot only is helping Subscribers make MO’ MONEY, but it provides a comparison benchmark for other betting strategies.

For the DailyFaceoff.com regulars that are taking our free, 14-Day TEST DRIVE, the common question is why are there very few NHL picks when we release our MO’ MONEY PREMIUM Picks? There are 2 parts to the answer:  the Money Lines may be too high and our picks depend on the predictive accuracy of our VAS (if a team wins when they are recommended to win or lose when they are recommended to lose). If one team wins when we predict and the other team loses when we predict, the Money Line will typically be high. The real value is when you have 2 teams that are fairly predictable and the VAS gives the edge to one team.

SPECIAL OFFER:  All DailyFaceoff.com patrons that have taken the TEST DRIVE can upgrade to a PREMIUM FS Subscription (US$299/mth) for US$149.00/mth. This rate is good through 6/30/12 (the end of the NHL season). To upgrade, make sure you’re logged in, then go to My Account->My Subscription and select the PREMIUM FS button. This upgrade offer expires on 2/15/12.
