Boston has signed Frederic Brunet to a three-year, entry-level contract worth $2,580,000 ($860,000 AAV).

Brunet was Boston's 2022 fifth-round pick (132nd overall) and has signed a three-year, entry-level contract worth $2,580,000 ($860,000 AAV). The 20-year-old had 16 goals, 57 assists, 28 PIMs and a +10 plus/minus through 66 games played with Rimouski (QMJHL) and Victoriaville (QMJHL) in 2022-23. He is expected to play for the Providence Bruins (AHL) for the 2023-24 season.

Brandon Sutter has retired after being released from his PTO from Edmonton and 13 NHL seasons.

Sutter attempted to make a comeback after a two-year hiatus from hockey after signing a PTO with Edmonton but was released Sunday and announced his retirement after 13 NHL seasons. The 34-year-old forward last played for Vancouver in 2020-21 and closed out his career representing three NHL teams (VAN, CAR, PIT). He retires with 152 goals, 137 assists, 149 PIMs and 1442 SOG through 770 career games played.

Donskoi announced his retirement from professional hockey after suffering multiple concussions.

"After suffering multiple concussions over my career I've decided to retire from professional hockey," Donskoi said in a social media post on Sunday. Donskoi finishes his career with 208 points (80G / 128A) in 474 games with the Sharks, Avalanche and Kraken.

Thomas Greiss has retired from the NHL after a 14-year career.

Greiss called it a career Wednesday as he announced through the Blues' social media account that the goaltender would be retiring after a solid 14-year NHL career. The 37-year-old was 7-10-0 with a .896 SV% and 3.58 GAA in 2022-23 as St.Louis backup. He ends his career with a 162-130-37 record, .911 SV% and 2.77 GAA.

The Blackhawks have acquired Josh Bailey and a 2026 2nd Round Pick from the Islanders for future considerations.

Bailey has one year left on a contract with a $5.0M cap hit. Bailey is overpaid for his current production level, having posted just 25 points (8G / 17A) in 64 games last season. For the Blackhawks, Bailey helps them get to the cap floor and provides more veteran leadership on a team going through a transition period.

Bailey was a healthy scratch for the Islanders' previous three-games but will draw back into the lineup Wednesday vs. Montreal for Simon Holmstrom. The 33-year-old veteran surpassed the 1000 game mark this season and has eight goals, 25 points, 72 SOG, and a +3 plus/minus through 63 games when dressed this season.

Halak stopped 31 of 34 shots (.912 SV%) to snap a two-game winning streak as he beat the Buffalo Sabres in his previous start. The 37-year-old Rangers' backup has been mediocre when called upon this season, with his 10-8-4 record, 2.69 GAA and .906 SV%. He will take on the St. Louis Blues, who have won three of their last five games and are third in the NHL in shooting percentage this season (11.3%).

Greiss has struggled this season, with his 7-10-0 record with his 3.64 GAA and .898 SV% and is not considered day-to-day with an undisclosed injury as he is banged up. Vadim Zherenko has been recalled on an emergency basis in the meantime to replace the injured 37-year-old Greiss.

The 37-year-old Rangers' backup has had an up-and-down season, with his 10-8-3 record, .905 SV% and 2.68 GAA. He will take on the Buffalo Sabres, who just had a two-game winning streak snapped with a 4-3 shootout loss to Montreal last game.
