The Cheat Sheet: February 22nd, 2011

Gather around hockey fans and devoted gamblers, it’s time for our daily meeting before we go off and make some potentially regrettable decisions with our money. Today on the docket: 10 games, sorted into Gold picks, Silver Picks, Bronze Picks, and black lumps of coal.

Let’s see how today’s numbers break down, using the trusty database-recall system.

Tuesday’s Sheet:

– Should the Leafs really be -165 favorites (against anybody)? The Islanders are in a tough spot (tired team on a good run), but this is still probably a winnable game for them.

– I was actually floored when I saw that New Jersey was the road favorite at Dallas. Sure, one team’s been good and the other’s been bad, but this line just looks wrong (even though the system actually favors New Jersey). Curiously, my book has temporarily taken this game off the board.

– COL/STL looks like a pretty solid Over…  It almost looks too easy though…

Agree with the Gold pick? Disagree with it? See a betting line on the board that seems wrong? You know what to do (fill up the comment section).
