The Cheat Sheet: February 4th, 2011

Gather around hockey fans and devoted gamblers, it’s time for our daily meeting before we go off and make some potentially regrettable decisions with our money. Today on the docket: 6 games, sorted into Gold picks, Silver Picks, Bronze Picks, and black lumps of coal.

Let’s see how today’s numbers break down, using the trusty database-recall system.

Friday’s Sheet: (goalies updated 12PM PT)

– The tables in the Southeast have turned, and now it’s Washington staring up at Tampa Bay. By the way, no other team in the league has anything close to a .739 home win%. Both teams are getting great goaltending (who would have thought?), but Washington’s offense has also gone missing at the moment. I can see how this Gold play makes sense. Now, if we can get a little money to move the line, that would be perfect.

– CBJ/DET over 5.5: also worth consideration.

– EDM bumped from Silver to Bronze after putting Conklin in net for STL. It’s actually an issue of Conklin being an unknown x-factor, rather than an issue of Conklin being better or worse than Halak.

Agree with the Gold pick? Disagree with it? See a betting line on the board that seems wrong? You know what to do (fill up the comment section).
