The Cheat Sheet: March 29th, 2011

Gather around hockey fans and devoted gamblers, it’s time for our daily meeting before we go off and make some potentially regrettable decisions with our money. Today on the docket: 11 games, sorted into Gold picks, Silver Picks, Bronze Picks, and black lumps of coal.

Let’s see how today’s numbers break down, using the trusty database-recall system.

Tuesday’s Sheet: (Goalies updated 11 AM PT)

– The idea of Ottawa beating Tampa Bay is as ludicrous as the idea of Ottawa Beating Tampa Bay on March the 19th and on March the 11th, earlier this month (go ahead, look it up). All right, now that we’re all up to date, I actually think it sucks that we’re only getting +170 with Ottawa today, when they were +220 just 18 days ago. It’s a no-go for me at the moment.

– For Vancouver, the question now becomes ‘motivation’. The Canucks are 9 points ahead of Philadelphia for the President’s Trophy with two weeks remaining. Our little database query is pulling numbers mostly from games where the Canucks actually gave a damn. For this game, however,I think that Nashville might actually come out with a lot more early jump than Vancouver.

Agree with the Gold pick? Disagree with it? See a betting line on the board that seems wrong? You know what to do (fill up the comment section).
