Sean Conboy of Pittsburgh Magazine posts what is likely the post of the season, outlining the commentary on the infamous Sidney Crosby hit followed by the general perspective on concussions in sports. Crosby has already missed 26 games and although David Steckel may be sorry, it will not erase the 23-year-old missing at least a half a season to headaches and dizziness. Nevertheless, James Neal gives another example of why Sidney Crosby is a leader: he hasn’t played a game in two months and he’s still making his new teammates feel welcome.

Around the NHL

Are you in a dynasty or keeper league and always look for the next best goalie? Well look no further as Justin Goldman and company bring you the Top-100 Prospects Rankings Update. Look out for Cory Schneider as he figures to be an impact netminder one way or the other.

EJ’s got swagger and he’s bringing it to the Avs.  Good thing he at least has that since GM Greg Sherman completely set back their franchise by a few years.

Ryan Porth and Patrick Hoffman at RLD Hockey discuss who will be left out of the Eastern Conference playoff race. Porth thinks the Rangers are drowning while Hoffman doubts the Sabres. As always, worth a good read.

Ben Bishop may be joining Peoria for their playoff run – you know, since the Blues are out of it.  The towering Bishop likely starts every game for the Blues until Jaroslav Halak returns.

Chris Wassel and company over at The Hockey Program take a look at the best fantasy hockey players of 2008. A nice read which will always bring back memories. Makes one wonder what Evgeni Nabokov could have done on the Red Wings.

Dan Ellis thinks the Ducks’ defense is better than he had in Tampa Bay or Nashville… and that’s why he’s winning games.

Last but definitely not least, Claude Giroux is making a name for himself with his consistent play in both ends of the ice. Dave Strehle of NHL Hot Stove takes a look at how Giroux compares to other excellent Flyers players in the past, including Bobby Clarke, Bernie Parent and Bill Barber.

Tweet of the Week
