Niclas Bergfors and Zach Bogosian will miss tonight’s game as the team faces the Buffalo Sabres at home, according to Ben Wright of Blueland Blog.

While Bogosian remains day-to-day with a shoulder injury, Bergfors earned himself a healthy scratch with his lack of goal scoring thus far.  In his first four games, Bergfors has only managed two assists.  Considering he put 21 on the board as a rookie, this lack of consistency is frustrating to both his team and fantasy managers.

Head coach Craig Ramsey acknowledges that the young Swede needs to work on his intensity and that it could be difficult with his third coach in less than a year.  When questioned, Ramsey still had some encouraging things to say about his 23-year-old right wing:

“It hasn’t been easy for him,” added Ramsay. “It’s not easy to bounce in and out of the lineup, but he smiles and he’s ready to play and that’s very, very important. That’s part of what we’re trying to accomplish here. You might not be the star one night but you have to be ready to go because you’re part of the team.”

Considering the lack of depth on the Atlanta Thrashers and his replacement– often-injured forward Fredrik Modin– this move seems temporary.  In deeper leagues it might be time to look for better options as the young wing tries to earn his coach’s trust back.  He acknowledges he needs to be better so hold off from any drastic measures in deeper formats.
