Which RFAs are worth the fantasy risk?

With so many NHL RFAs still looking for contracts, it’s fair to wonder how that would affect your fantasy hockey strategy. Guys like @Matthew Tkachuk, @Mikko Rantanen, and @Patrik Laine are all expected to be big offensive contributors to their respective teams but they remain unsigned despite the pre-season being well underway.

While many expect that Matthew Tkachuk and Mikko Rantanen will get signed sooner than later, you never know what can happen when it comes to contract negotiations, especially if there is a wide gap that’s left to be covered. As we saw last season with @William Nylander, sometimes these standoffs can reach a stalemate and months (or even a season) can be lost as a result. It took until the 11th hour for the @Toronto Maple Leafs to get Nylander signed and it took the player weeks to get back up to speed, which contributed to a less than stellar output. Now, to decide whether or not taking these unsigned stars is worth the risk for your fantasy team.

How are you handling the big, unsigned RFAs in your fantasy pool? Are you drafting them in the hopes that they’ll sign before the regular season starts, or are you avoiding the situation entirely?
