Wolski Settles Down in Arizona

After coming over to the Phoenix Coyotes from the Colorado Avalanche during the trade deadline, Wojtek Wolski re-signed with his new team for two years with a 3.8 million cap hit.

With the Coyotes, the former first round pick managed six goals and 18 assists over 18 games providing the spark the team needed after losing Scottie Upshall for the season.  During the playoffs the 24-year-old managed a respectable four points in seven games.  If he managed a point-per-game pace during the run, the Yotes may have been able to top the Detroit Red Wings.

Matthew Lombardi mostly centered Wolski as the two played with captain Shane Doan.  Both Lombardi and Robert Lang expect to hit free agency meaning the team needs to replace their top skilled center in order for these players to maintain their current production.

Wolski mostly played with exceptional playmaking centers throughout his career, leading to most of his past success.  Picking the Coyotes to repeat their excellent season would be somewhat risky considering the team played a mostly defensive system and greatly relied on their star netminder, Ilya Bryzgalov.

There will be safer bets but keep in mind Wolski will still play first line minutes which makes him very valuable in deep leagues.
