Adrian Aucoin News

Adrian Aucoin has officially retired from the NHL.

Aucoin was drafted 117th overall in 1992 by the Vancouver Canucks. He played 1108 games over 18 NHL seasons with the Canucks, Lightning, Islanders, Blackhawks, Flames, Coyotes and Blue Jackets. He registered 121 career goals and 278 assists (399 points). He was a one-time All-Star (2004) and an Olympic Silver Medalist in 1994 with Team Canada.

With his right eye stitched up, battered and swollen almost closed, the wheels still were turning in Adrian Aucoin's head. The veteran defenseman jokingly said if he could stay near the boards, he could probably play with one good eye.

Sounds like Aucoin will miss a few games. His booming shot has only found the back of the net once this season as point totals continue to decrease for the fifth consecutive season.
