Bobkov, 23, has been recalled to backup Frederik Andersen tonight because Jason LaBarbera is out with an upper-body injury. Bobkov has gone 1-4-0 with a 4.70 GAA and .842 SV% with Norfolk this season.
John Gibson is expected to miss six weeks with a groin injury and Frederik Andersen is day-to-day with leg tightness, so Bobkov has been recalled as insurance for Wednesday's game against the Islanders. Bobkov has gone 0-2-0 with a 5.05 GAA and .844 SV% with Norfolk this season. He has never played in an NHL contest. Expect him to backup Jason LaBarbera tomorrow if Andersen is unavailable.
Bobkov, 22 (1/2/91), appeared in 28 contests for the Admirals this season, going 11-17-0 with a 3.13 GAA and .903 SV%. Recalled twice to Anaheim on Apr. 5 and Apr. 19, Bobkov has yet to make his NHL debut.
Appears that Viktor Fasth might be dealing with an injury issue. Took part in morning skate but left ice a little early. If he's healthy enough he'll back up Hiller. If not, it's Bobkov.
Bobkov will begin his pro career in the AHL.
