The Senators have acquired Jason Akeson, Phil Varone, Jerome Gauthier-Leduc and a conditional draft pick from the Sabres for Eric O’Dell, Cole Schneider, Alex Guptill and Michael Sdao.

Akeson, 25, has 30 points (8G / 22A) in 52 games with the Rochester Americans (AHL) this season. He has one goal and one assist in 15 career NHL games with the Flyers. Akeson is a native of Orleans, Ontario, which is a suburb of Ottawa, so this is a homecoming for the young winger.

The Flyers have recalled Jason Akeson from Lehigh Valley (AHL).

Akeson, 24, has no points in 12 games with the Flyers this season, but will get into the lineup for the season finale with Vincent Lecavalier out of the lineup with a head injury. Akeson has collected 51 points (22G / 29A) in 53 games at Lehigh Valley.

He began the 2014-15 season with the Flyers appearing in 12 games, going scoreless while averaging 7:36 of ice-time per-game. His recall likely means that Scott Laughton will miss some time with an upper-body injury.
