The Winnipeg Jets released 20 players and sent them to the American League farm team in St. John's, today, among them veteran forwards Jason Jaffray and Marco Rosa.
No immediate fantasy hockey value in the AHL.
“The first thing that goes through your mind is that this thing better not be dislocated or separated when I stand up,” said Jaffray, who is here in training camp trying to nail down a job as the 12th or 13th forward.
As a fan favorite in Manitoba, Jaffray could make the team out of sentimental value. Through 36 career NHL games, the 29-year-old holds four goals and 10 points to his name.
Sources confirmed on the weekend that the NHL club signed former Manitoba Moose forward Jason Jaffray to a one-year, two-way deal.
