Bobby Sanguinetti News

The Canucks recalled Bobby Sanguinetti from Utica (AHL) on Thursday.

Sanguinetti, 26, has 13 goals and 15 assists (28 points) in 42 games with the Comets this season. He was recalled prior to Thursday’s game, but did not get into the lineup. He is unlikely to play unless another Canucks blue liner goes down.

He had surgery in mid-November for a tear in the labrum in his hip, missing 47 games for the Charlotte Checkers (AHL). While he did return to the Checkers' lineup in mid-March, he said he never felt 100 percent healthy.

After an essentially lost season, Sanguinetti looks to recapture his scoring touch that made him a first round pick and AHL All-Star. He could be a decent post-hype sleeper should the Canes incur some injuries on the blue line.
