Brenden Morrow News

The Lightning signed Brenden Morrow to a one-year, $1.55 million contract.

Morrow, 35, had 13 goals and 12 assists (25 points) in 71 games with the Blues last season. The veteran winger is a two-time 30-plus goal scorer, but has seen his production fall while playing a smaller role over the last few seasons. In 2013-14 he figures to play on the Lightning's third or fourth line on a regular basis.

Morrow had not been a consistent performer for the Blues but his presence will certainly be missed as they're still dealing with a number of injuries including David Backes.

if Morrow impresses the coaches on the second line, when Malkin returns his fantasy value will go way up. The LW next to Malkin and Neal has changed all year, if Morrow can solidify that role he could become a useful fantasy asset. Morrow is a gritty player that can open space for his line-mates, he should help Neal and Malkin just as much as they help him.

LW Brenden Morrow (groin) officially out tonight vs. #NHLDucks, DAL coach Glen Gulutzan said.

Morrow will miss his third game in a row tonight. Morrow skated this morning and it looked as if he might be in the lineup, but that is not the case. He should be back in the lineup Saturday vs. Chicago.
