#flames recall forward Akim Aliu from Abbotsford. Akim is a native of Okene, Nigeria and was a 2nd pick by Chicago in 2007 Draft.
Aliu is expected to get a late-season look with the Flames. He scored 10 goals and added four assists in 40 games with the Abbotsford Heat.
It was announced this morning that the Flames have acquired RW Akim Aliu from the Winnipeg Jets in exchange for D John Negrin.
Aliu is a former 56th overall pick who he struggled to adapt to the professional ranks. Expect him to add some depth to the Flames' farm system.
