Andrew Brunette News

Andrew Brunette (upper) is on the ice for the #Blackhawks morning skate in Denver.

No word on whether he will play tonight but skating is definitely a good sign. The veteran scored nine goals and 19 points through his first 52 games in Chicago. Check back for a further update on his status.

The veteran winger will travel with the team to Denver and could be in the lineup by the weekend, Hawks coach Joel Quenneville said Sunday -- just a few days after the situation seemed much more dire following an upper body injury suffered in Edmonton last week.

Playing with top players has continued during Brunette's first two games wearing a Hawks sweater. In Friday night's season opener in Dallas, he was paired with Patrick Kane and Marian Hossa and in Saturday night's rematch, Brunette started on a line with Jonathan Toews and Patrick Sharp.

Brunette was shuffled between the top two lines in his first two games as a Blackhawk. Over the last two seasons the LW played in every game, scoring 43 goals. He could score 20 goals pretty easily with his upgraded supporting cast.
