Rich Peverley News

The Stars placed Rich Peverley on long-term IR over the weekend.

The move gives the Stars some cap and roster flexibility until Peverley is ready to get back to hockey. There is still no timetable for Peverley's return after he collapsed on the bench last season due to a heart condition.

“Rich Peverley is resting comfortably and being monitored at UT Southwestern St. Paul," said Stars GM Jim Nill.

Obviously great news to hear that Peverley is doing well after a scary incident on Monday. His NHL future is in question after a such an event. If you remember a similar situation happened in Detroit years ago with Jiri Fischer. Fischer was forced to retire following the episode, hopefully for Peverley that is not the case.

Peverley has ditched his non-contact jersey and was skating on the Stars fourth line this morning.

After undergoing a procedure to correct an irregular heartbeat, Peverley is on schedule to make his Stars debut tomorrow vs. Washington. Chris Mueller will come out of the lineup in favour of him.

Stars coach Lindy Ruff said forward Rich Peverley (irregular heartbeat) is still on target to be ready for the second game of the season.

Peverley underwent the heart procedure on September 13th and appears on track to only miss the first game of the season. We will have to wait and see which line his new team decides to use him on. He is a versatile player that is very useful to an NHL team, not so much your fantasy team.

Dallas Stars forward Rich Peverley will miss three weeks after undergoing a procedure to correct an irregular heartbeat.

The 31-year-old Peverley might miss the first couple of games of the regular season. Dallas opens against Florida on Oct. 3. The Stars reported on their website that the issue was discovered during a physical Wednesday, and doctors decided to perform the procedure after more tests Thursday. Peverley can skate in the coming weeks but must avoid contact.

Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today, July 4, that the club has acquired forwards Loui Eriksson, Matt Fraser, Reilly Smith and defenseman Joe Morrow from the Dallas Stars in exchange for forwards Rich Peverley, Tyler Seguin and defenseman Ryan Button.

Peverley gives the Stars more depth up the middle and could be a reliable secondary scoring threat for them - but likely not for your fantasy team.

Rich Peverley, a healthy scratch in Game 1, is practicing on the third line with Chris Kelly and Jaromir Jagr. Kaspars Daugavins, the No. 3 left wing on Wednesday, is one of three spare forwards along with Carl Soderberg and Jay Pandolfo.

Peverley had six goals and 12 assists in 47 games this year.

Rich Peverley is spare forward with Pandolfo and Soderberg. Daugavins on third line with Kelly and Jagr.

It looks like Peverley will be a healthy scratch for tomorrow's tilt with the Maple Leafs. He had just one goal, one assist and a minus-1 in his last nine regular season games.

WILMINGTON – Rich Peverley has hit the Ristuccia Arena ice for another solo skate. Peverley is wearing his usual gray practice jersey. Strength and conditioning coach John Whitesides is monitoring Peverley’s session.

Expect Peverley back in a few weeks. Through 49 games, he has nine goals and 38 points.
