Andrei Kostitsyn News

Chris Campoli and forward Andrei Kostitsyn trained both on the second rink, as Hall Gill, who later joined the rest of the team.

Practicing before the team went on the ice is the first step towards his recovery. Kostitsyn remains on the IR so he would need to be activated before playing -- which seems like a stretch at this point. Prior to this injury he scored five goals and nine points over 13 games.

Andrei Kostitsyn took part in the morning skate. We'll see if he will be able to play tonight, as he is not 100%. He also jumped on the ice for ten minutes.

If Kostitsyn does not play tonight the Habs will do some line juggling which would include Yannick Weber moving back to forward, Alexei Emelin drawing back in and Mathieu Darche moving up a line. Stay tuned for a further update.

There’s also a minor shakeup in the forward lines with Erik Cole and Andrei Kostitsyn switching spots. Kostitsyn lines up with David Desharnais and Mathieu Darche.

Kostitsyn drops a bit in value with his demoition, after the Habs were shutout in their season opener. His 20 goals and 45 points are definitely fantasy hockey relevant in deeper leagues but his chances of returning to those totals are directly related to his role.
