Zub will miss his second consecutive game as he recovers from an upper-body injury. Zub was off to a hot start this season, recording three points (1G / 2A), nine blocks, and eight shots in four games. Jacob Bernard-Docker was recalled by the Senators and should continue filling in for Zub on defence.

The 28-year-old has started off 2023-24 with a bang, picking up a goal, two assists, two SOG, four PIMs and a +3 plus/minus in four games so far this season.

Zub last played on January 14th due to a lower-body injury and will draw back into the Senators' lineup Saturday as they take on Edmonton. The 27-year-old had three goals, three assists, 22 SOG, and 12 PIMs through 21 games prior to the injury.

Zub has two goals, two assists, 10 PIMs, and 15 SOG while averaging 22:01 ATOI across 14 games played and will now be signed in the Nation's capital for four more years, at an average of $4.6 million per year. The 27-year-old has 11 goals, 29 assists, 96 PIMs and a +4 plus/minus across 142 career games played in three NHL seasons.

Zub came over from the KHL this offseason after scoring 13 goals with nine assists (22 points) in 57 games with St. Petersburg SKA. The 25-year-old undrafted free agent is expected to replace Thomas Chabot, who is doubtful with an undisclosed injury.

The Senators have signed Artem Zub to a one-year, entry-level contract.

Zub was an undrafted free agent defenseman out of Russia, who is coming off of a career-year in the KHL. The 24-old set new career-highs in goals (13), assists (9) and points (22) in 57 games with St. Petersburg SKA. In 2018 he represented Russia in the Olympics, where he had four assists in six games to help the team win gold.
