Cam Janssen News

Right wing Cam Janssen (deep contusion on sternum) was placed on injured reserve retroactive to his last game on Dec. 3 in Winnipeg. He would be eligible to come off IR in time for Monday’s game in Tampa Bay if he is ready, Janssen said Thursday that he anticipated practicing with the team today.

Due to the urgency of his injury, the Devils have held him out for a few games. Don't expect much from the wounded enforcer at this point.

WINNIPEG, Manitoba -- Devils right winger Cam Janssen had to be taken to the Health Science Centre in Winnipeg during the team's 4-2 loss to the Jets because there is no X-ray machine in the MTS Centre.

Sounds like Janssen is fine after the scary injury but he may miss a few games for precautionary measures.

Pelley in for Janssen; DeBoer said Janssen will be back in lineup sooner rather than later, and said it's not for lack of effort #NJD

Considering the Sharks don't dress an enforcer, the Devils have little need to dress Janssen tonight. Tomorrow against the Penguins should be a different story.
