Is carlo back in the lineup ... Yes, paired with Polak this morning.

Colaiacovo has missed the past five games. With only 63, 65 and 67 games played over the past three seasons, missing around 15-20 games has become the norm for the former 17th overall pick. Look for him to replace Nikita Nikitin in the lineup.

With defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo a game time decision, expect Kent Huskins to make his Blues debut.

Colaiacovo continues to carry the 'injury-prone' label. While productive, the puck-moving defenseman only played 63, 67 and 65 games in each of the past three seasons. Expect him to miss a few games which would put Kent Huskins or a youngster like Ian Cole into regular playing time.

(Colaiacovo) is a guy who's going to see power-play time. But we looked at some units today that came out of our game against Colorado that were fairly effective.

Colaiacovo should eventually return to the top PP unit but will be pushed to earn the time. Last season he scored six goals and 26 points through 65 games with the Blues, but will face heavy competition behind Kevin Shattenkirk and Alex Pietrangelo. Considering 11 of those points came via PP, expect a slight decrease in his production.

Payne says Colaiacovo has a chest injury and is day to day. Could practice tomorrow.

Definitely a good sign for the often-injured Colaiacovo. Last season he scored six goals and 26 points but sits behind Kevin Shattenkirk and Alex Pietrangelo on the depth chart. Expect Kent Huskins and Mark Cundari to take over for him in the meantime.

Blues still fairly mum on Carlo Colaiacovo's injury....Payne said they want to do further testing before saying much about it. Could be a sign of something substantial, maybe not

No way to gauge the extent of his injury. Last season he scored six goals and 26 points but sits behind Kevin Shattenkirk and Alex Pietrangelo on the depth chart. Stay tuned for a further update.

This summer, which Colaiacovo spent primarily in St. Louis, he adjusted his diet and was able to start a running program for the first time in several years. As a result, he is around 195 pounds and in the best shape of his career.

Colaiacovo scored six goals and 26 points at said heavier weight but hopes shedding some lbs will help his overall game. Considering he lost six points from the previous season, the 28-year-old could be on the upswing.
