Johnson will start Friday vs. the Hurricanes.

Johnson allowed four goals on 28 shots in the Sabres loss in Pittsburgh on December 2nd. Robin Lehner started the last five games but Johnson will start the second game of their back-to-back vs. the Hurricanes. In his first start against Carolina, Johnson stopped 30 of 32 shots in a 3-1 loss.

Johnson allowed five goals on 31 shots in the Sabres’ overtime loss in Vegas on Tuesday, but with Robin Lehner feeling under the weather, Johnson will start tonight vs. Vancouver. Johnson has posted a 4.08 GAA and .863 SV% in three starts and one relief appearance. Vancouver comes in sitting at 2-3-1 while averaging 2.50 goals for per game (t-26th in the NHL).

Johnson allowed one goal on 26 shots in the Sabres’ win in Anaheim on Sunday. The win earned Johnson a second straight start tonight in Vegas. A season ago, Johnson went 9-6-1 with a 2.16 GAA and .926 SV% on the road as a member of the Calgary Flames. Vegas is off to an O.K. start to the season, but it is a strong spot-start opportunity for the 31-year-old.

Johnson allowed just one goal on 16 shots after replacing Robin Lehner in the Sabres loss in Brooklyn on Saturday. It was a strong relief appearance from the 31-year-old and earned him his first start of the season this afternoon. Johnson has a career 2.44 GAA and .915 SV% and his first start will come vs. a Devils team that will be missing Kyle Palmieri and Drew Stafford.

The Sabres have signed Chad Johnson to a one-year deal worth $2.5M.

Johnson was brought into Calgary last season to be Brian Elliott’s backup, but ended playing a more important role than originally thought. Johnson went 18-15-2 with a 2.59 GAA and .910 SV% in 36 games and will return to Buffalo to serve as the primary backup to Robin Lehner. The Sabres No.1 has had a tough time staying in the crease, so Johnson could be in line for 30-plus starts again in 2017-18.

Johnson gave up four goals on 31 shots in the Flames’ loss to the Bruins on March 15th. He will give Brian Elliott a breather tonight in Nashville and it will be his second start of the season vs. the Predators. Johnson is 9-5-1 with a 2.12 GAA and .929 SV% on the road and allowed four goals in a loss in his first start vs. Nashville.

Johnson will try to extend the Flames’ winning streak to 11, but will be in tough against a quality Bruins team that comes in on a three-game winning streak.

Tonight he faces the Panthers for the second time this season—he stopped 20 of 22 in a 5-2 win in the first meeting between the two.

Johnson allowed two goals on 33 shots in the Flames’ win in Pittsburgh last Tuesday. Win and you’re in, so Johnson will start again tonight vs. the Coyotes. The 30-year-old has gone 9-7-0 on home ice this season and has gone 2-0-0 with a 0.99 GAA and .959 SV% in his first two starts against the Coyotes this season.
