Murphy will draw back into the Blackhawks lineup on Thursday.

Murphy was healthy scratched in Montreal on Tuesday to allow Cody Franson to get into the lineup, but look for the two to swap spots again tonight. Murphy, who was acquired for Niklas Hjalmarsson this offseason, has no points on three shots with seven hits in three games this season.

The Coyotes signed Connor Murphy to a six-year deal worth $23.1 million ($3.85M AAV).

Murphy, 23, scored six goals with 11 assists (17 points) in 78 games in 2015-16. In his first two NHL seasons Murphy has scored a combined 10 goals and 14 assists (24 points) in 151 games. He will be a key member of the Coyotes’ blueline in 2016-17.

The Coyotes reassigned Connor Murphy to Portland (AHL) on Sunday.

Murphy skated in 21 games, recording eight points (1G / 7A), pretty good numbers for a 20-year-old rookie defenseman. The Coyotes recalled Jordan Szwarz to provide some depth at forward, David Schlemko is expected to replace Murphy in the lineup.

The Coyotes placed Rostislav Klesla on waivers yesterday, he cleared so likely going to the AHL, so Murphy will be in the lineup tonight. Murphy played 22:32 and scored his first career goal in his NHL debut on November 16. He scored in the NHL before he scored in the AHL, posting five assists in 12 games with Portland.

The Coyotes have recalled Connor Murphy from Portland (AHL).

Murphy was the 20th overall pick in the 2011 NHL Draft. The 20-year-old played two seasons in the OHL with the Sarnia Sting posting 44 points (14 G / 30 A) in 68 games. This season he has five assists in 10 games with Portland. He will enter the lineup with Derek Morris and Zbynek Michalek unlikely to play.

Connor Murphy, the Coyotes’ first-round draft pick in the 2011 draft (20th overall) underwent arthroscopic knee surgery Monday to repair a torn meniscus. He was injured during USA Hockey’s national junior evalulation camp last week. Murphy’s recovery time is estimated at two to four months before he can resume playing.
