Ellis stopped all 26 shots he faced in a 2-0 win over the Ducks on February 1. Ellis has had a tough season posting a 2.94 GAA and .906 SV% while going 5-5-0. He appears set to take on a quietly dangerous Blue Jackets team who are also in the second game of a back-to-back.
Dan Ellis News
It will be Ellis' first action since January 12. He allowed three goals on 30 shots in a loss to the Islanders that evening. Ellis is 4-5-0 with a 3.25 GAA and .898 SV% this season. He already has one win over the Ducks this season, he stopped 28 of 31 shots in a 6-3 victory in November.
Ellis was pulled after allowing three goals on 13 shots in the first period vs. the Red Wings on January 4. He never looked comfortable against Detroit, but will get the call tonight vs. the Islanders after they pushed seven past Kari Lehtonen on Monday. The Isles have won eight of their last 11, and Ellis has a 3.28 GAA and .897 SV%, only spot-start if you are desperate.
The Stars have a back-to-back on Thursday and Friday, they take on the Devils tonight and the Rangers tomorrow. With Kari Lehtonen allowing seven goals in his last start and the Devils being the easier of the two matchups, my GUESS would be Dan Ellis tonight, but we will find out for sure at 6:30.
Ellis allowed two goals on 27 shots in a win over the Avalanche on December 17. His 3.04 GAA and .904 SV% aren’t exactly great numbers but Ellis has yet to lose at home, going 4-0-0 with a 2.39 GAA and .919 SV%.
Ellis allowed two goals on 27 shots in a win over the Avalanche on December 17. He left the ice first this morning which is a strong indicator that he will start vs. the Red Wings, but coach Lindy Ruff does not confirm his goalie, so we will wait until warmups to confirm. Ellis has yet to lose at home, going 4-0-0 with a 2.39 GAA and .919 SV%.
Ellis stopped 12 of 14 shots after replacing Kari Lehtonen on December 10 vs. Chicago. He draws a tough matchup tonight with the Avalanche in town. Ellis stopped 23 of 26 shots in a 3-2 loss to the Avs on October 15.
Ellis allowed three goals on 31 shots but was the winner on November 26 vs. Anaheim. He gets the nod this afternoon against a Flyers team who have have won three out of their last four.
Kari Lehtonen was the first goalie to leave the ice this morning, and Stars reporter had him starting again, but Ellis ends up getting the nod. Ellis allowed one goal on seven shots in a relief effort on Saturday. He has only one win with a 3.63 GAA and .894 SV% this season. With only one game tonight the last minute switch won't hurt fantasy owners, as Ellis would not have been an ideal spot start against the Ducks.
Ellis has been less than spectacular filling in for Lehtonen, posting a 1-2-0 record with a .900 SV% and 3.44 GAA. He has a terrible matchup on the road vs. the Kings.

Ellis gave up three goals on 26 shots vs. Colorado on Tuesday. With Kari Lehtonen (lower-body) still injured, Ellis will look for his first win as a Star tonight. It won't be easy against the undefeated Sharks who lead the NHL in scoring. It's a busy night in the NHL, there are much better options.
Ellis was beat five times on 36 shots in the 5-1 loss to the Wild on Saturday. It wasn't the best first start as a Dallas Star but he will look to bounce back tonight in Colorado.

The Islanders will be pressing tonight because with a win over the Hurricanes and a Jets loss the Islanders will clinch a playoff spot. Ellis stopped 35 of 37 shots in a 3-2 win over the Lightning on Sunday. He isn't an ideal start at this stage of the fantasy season.
He is the starter.
