The win ended a brief two-game losing skid for Rittich, who was 6-4-2 with a 3.02 GAA and .906 in 12 starts in October. Rittich went 27-9-5 with a 2.61 GAA and .911 SV% in 2018-19. He had a chance to run with the starting job and faltered and it resulted in Mike Smith starting in the postseason. With Smith now in Edmonton, Rittich will get another chance, this time with Cam Talbot as his backup.
