The Capitals have signed Declan Chisholm to a two-year deal worth $1.6M AAV ($3.2M total).

Washington acquired the rights to Chisholm last week from the Minnesota Wild and promptly signed him to a two-year deal worth $1.6 million AAV. The 25-year-old Chisholm was a fifth-round pick in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. He averaged 17:00 time-on-ice last season with Minnesota, tallying 12 points (2G / 10A) in 66 games.

Chisholm will likely return to Minnesota's lineup on Tuesday when they host the Detroit Red Wings, his first action since before the break for the 4Nations Face-Off. The 25-year-old Chisholm is averaging 17:29 time-on-ice and has 11 points (2G / 9A) in 48 games this season.

Chisholm played two straight games but will return to being a healthy scratch as Jon Merrill will draw back into Minnesota's lineup on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Kings. The 24-year-old Chisholm has one point (0G / 1A) and is averaging 14:15 time-on-ice through eight games this season.

Chisholm missed the Wilds' first two games to begin the season due to illness but will make his debut on Sunday in Winnipeg as he replaces the injured Jared Spurgeon (lower body).
