Forbort is not expected to play on Wednesday.
Forbort is expected to be scratched in favour of Joakim Ryan, who returns from a knee injury. Head coach Todd McLellan said that the timing of the bye week and All-Star break "didn't work in Forbort's favour" after working his way back into playing shape after missing the first 43 games of the season with a back injury.

Forbort was recently recalled from his conditioning stint with Ontario (AHL), where he had one goal in five games. Forbort, who played over 85 percent of his 5v5 ice-time with Drew Doughty last season could be eased back into the lineup on the third-pair tonight but will almost certainly play with Doughty at some point in the near future.

Forbort (back) is “struggling to get healthy” and the Kings don’t have a timetable for his return.
Forbort, who plays a key role next to Drew Doughty for the Kings, is still not in training camp and head coach Todd McLellan isn’t sure when he’ll get the 27-year-old defneseman back. The Kings went out and signed Benn Hutton to a one-year deal on Tuesday to add a little more depth while Forbort heals up.
Forbort is expected to be a healthy scratch on Thursday.
Forbort has picked up two assists while averaging 18:55 TOI/GM in his first nine games of the season. Tonight he will be replaced by Paul LaDue.

Forbort is week-to-week with a lower-body injury.
Forbort left Monday’s win over the Avalanche with a lower-body injury and did not return. It was later determined to be serious enough to keep him sidelined for a couple of weeks, which is a huge blow to a Kings team headed to the postseason. Forbort has picked up 18 points (1G / 18A) and a plus-18 rating while logging over 20 minutes per night on the Kings blueline this season.

Forbort left Tuesday’s game with an upper-body injury and did not return.
Forbort played just 10:26 TOI before heading down the tunnel for the rest of the game. Forbort has logged over 21 minutes per game this season so his loss will be felt but it could allow prospect Paul LaDue to get into some games.

The Kings signed Derek Forbort to a two-year deal on July 11th.
Forbort, 24, was the 15th overall pick in 2010 and cracked the NHL roster in 2015-16. He spent the majority of the year with Ontario (AHL), collecting 10 points and 40 PIMS in 40 games, but he dressed in 14 contests with the Kings where he had one goal and one assist. Forbort will look to crack the Kings roster in training camp this Fall.
