Left wing Eric Boulton is also back with the team after a conditioning assignment to Albany last week, but remains on injured reserve.

Look for Boulton to draw in on the fourth line within the next week or so. He was signed to be the team's primary enforcer.

Devils GM Lou Lamoriello said LW Eric Boulton's right hand is feeling better and he has been skating, but he's not ready to come off IR yet.

Boulton got into one fight over four games before getting hurt. There are likely better options when looking for an enforcer.

Left wing Eric Boulton also said he is ready to play if needed after missing the last four games with a sore right hand. DeBoer said he would also talk to the training stafff about Boulton before deciding if he will play on Wednesday.

Boulton could draw in against the Leafs, who roster agitator Mike Brown. Nevertheless, there are probably better options in streaming PIM.

Eric Boulton hurt his right hand with his one-punch knockdown of San Jose's Douglas Murray Friday night. He will be replaced in the Devils' lineup against the Penguins by Cam Janssen. DeBoer joked that it was an "upper body" injury. When he admitted Boulton's hand was the upper body injury he said: "That's a safe guess. It depends how he's holding it."

If you currently roster Boulton for a boost in PIM, it may be time to let him go. His teammate, Cam Janssen, could be a better option at this point since neither hold any offensive upside.
