The Canadiens sent Jacob De La Rose to St. John’s (AHL).

After the Canadiens claimed Paul Byron off of waivers from Calgary, they had to send someone down and De La Rose was the victim of a numbers game. The 20-years-old had four goals and two assists (6 points) in 33 games with the Canadiens last season.

De La Rose will make his NHL debut on Tuesday.

De La Rose, 19, was a second-round pick (34th overall) in the 2013 NHL Draft. The 6-foot-2, 190 lbs. forward plays a physical game, also has the offensive skills to our up some numbers. He had six goals and five assists (11 points) in 37 games with Hamilton (AHL) this season.

The Montreal Canadiens have reassigned Jacob De La Rose to Hamilton (AHL).

De La Rose, 19, was the Canadiens second round pick (34th overall) in 2013. Montreal liked what the saw from the 6-foot-2 Swede, despite him failing to record a point in five preseason games. The general consensus around the Habs is that De La Rose will be recalled at some point this season.
