Schultz (lower-body) could return to the lineup on Tuesday.

Schultz was on the ice for Monday's practice and has not been ruled out for Tuesday's game in Philadelphia. This would be a huge boost to the Penguins blueline, who have seen John Marino and Marcus Pettersson step-up in his absence. Schultz had two goals and six assists (eight points) in 27 games before getting hurt in mid-December.

Schultz will be out “longer-term” with a lower-body injury.

Schultz was questionable heading into Thursday’s game but the news is much worse for the Penguins. Injuries continue to pile up for Pittsburgh, who are already without Kris Letang on the back-end. John Marino and Brian Dumoulin will continue to be leaned on heavily at even-strength and Marcus Pettersson and Jusso Riikola should see a bump in PP usage.

Schultz will miss at least four months after undergoing surgery on his fractured left leg.

Schultz underwent successful surgery to repair a fracture of his lower left leg on Sunday. Schultz is expected to miss at least four months, which will open the door for Jusso Riikola to become a full-time NHLer on the Penguins blueline. Jamie Oleksiak will draw n for Schultz on Tuesday and Olli Maatta will likely fill in for him on the second power-play unit.

Schultz is expected to miss time with a lower-body injury.

The Penguins are still waiting for official word on Schultz’s injury, but it looks like he is going to miss some time. Schultz was forced to leave Saturday’s game with a gruesome looking leg/ankle injury and left the Bell Centre with crutches and a boot. “We are losing a good hockey player,” Jack Johnson told reporters, suggesting that the early prognosis is not good. If Schultz does miss time, Just Riikola will have a full-time roster spot moving forward and Jamie Oleksiak will draw into the lineup on Tuesday.

Schultz has been out since December 5th with a lower-body injury but he was on the ice for the Penguins morning skate, suggesting he is close to a return. Schultz stayed on late which suggests he’ll be out yet again but could be back for next Tuesday’s clash with the Flyers.

Schultz (concussion) is skating and could join the Penguins on their road-trip.

The Penguins are in the middle of a five-game road trip and head coach Mike Sullivan said that Schultz is skating back in Pittsburgh and they haven’t ruled out that he could join the team in Western Canada. With Schultz and Matt Hunwick out, Chad Ruhwedel and Zach Trotman will remain in the lineup.
