Methot has been out since November 6th, but is expected to replace Julius Honka on Thursday. Methot had no points in his first 15 games with the Stars before getting hurt.
It looked as if Methot would make his return to the Stars lineup tonight, but Julius Honka will remain on the blueline. Methot may be back on Thursday.
Methot will miss his third consecutive game with a lower-body injury that he suffered November 6th vs. the Jets. The Stars have plenty of blueline depth so this injury shouldn’t affect them too much. He has no fantasy relevance has he’s failed to pick up a point with just 13 shots in 15 games this season.
Methot is a solid depth defeseman, but has limited offensive upside. In 2016-17, the 32-year-old had 12 assists in 68 games and has not topped 20 points in the last three seasons. Methot joins a Stars’ blueline that is crowded with young defensemen.
Methot suffered a serious finger injury after being slashed by Sidney Crosby on on Thursday. It was a gruesome looking injury and will cost the veteran defenseman “weeks.” With Methot out, Fredrik Claesson is expected to draw into the lineup on Saturday.
Methot will come out of the lineup tonight in New Jersey because of an illness. The veteran defenseman will be replaced in the lineup by Chris Wideman, who returns from a lower-body injury and Frederik Claesson will skate with Erik Karlsson.
Moore has been sidelined by a concussion since December 31st, but is set to get back in the lineup vs. the Sharks this afternoon. Moore has been a nice source of offence on the Devils’ blueline having recorded five goals and eight assists (13 points) in 37 games this season. Karl Stollery will come out of the lineup for Moore.
Methot has missed the last four games with a lower-body injury, but skated with Erik Karlsson on Friday and should play this afternoon in Los Angeles. Methot has just three assists in 23 games despite playing with Karlsson the majority of the time.
Methot left Tuesday’s game with a lower-body injury and did not return. With Methot out, Frederik Claesson will re-enter the lineup and play alongside Erik Karlsson. Methot is day-to-day.
Methot played for 15:22 TOI before exiting Tuesday’s game with a lower-body injury. Senators’ head coach Guy Boucher said after the game that Methot is day-to-day, which has him questionable for Thursday’s game.
Moore missed the last three games with a lower-body injury, but will return to the lineup on Thursday. He was activated from IR this afternoon and Damon Severson is expected to be a healthy scratch.
