The Ducks have acquired Jamie McGinn from Buffalo for a conditional third round pick.
McGinn, 27, is a big, rugged winger with a scorer’s touch. He has 14 goals and 13 assists (27 points) in 63 games with the Sabres this season and will replace Patrick Marron in Anaheim after he was dealt to the Edmonton Oilers.
On Friday the Sabres acquired Jamie McGinn and Ryan O’Reilly from the Avalanche Nikita Zadorov, Mikhail Grigorenko, prospect J.T. Compher and the 31st overall pick.

Marleau was promoted to the Sharks top-line in the morning skate.
Marleau has three goals and eight assists (11 points) in his last 12 games and tonight he will skate on the top-line with Joe Thornton and Melker Karlsson.
The Avalanche are considering season-ending back surgery for Jamie McGinn.
McGinn has been out with a back injury since November 15th. He is going to be evaluated this week and the Avalanche will make a decision on whether or not McGinn needs back surgery or if he can recover without going under the knife.
McGinn is questionable for Thursday with a back injury.
McGinn missed his second straight practice on Wednesday and is questionable for Thursday’s game vs. the Capitals. If McGinn is unable to go, expect Dennis Everberg to take his spot on the third line.
The Avalanche have signed Jamie McGinn to a two-year extension.
McGinn tallied 19 goals and 19 assists (38 points) in 79 games with the Avalanche in 2013-14. 38 points is a career-high for McGinn, who beat his previous best of 37 from 2011-12.
The Sharks have signed Patrick Marleau to a three-year contract extension with an annual cap-hit of $6.66 million US.
Marleau has 21 goals and 26 assists (47 points) in 51 games this season with the Sharks. Marleau is currently in his 16th season with the Sharks, he has 908 points (425G / 483A) in 1215 career NHL games (all with SJ).
Marleau skated this morning after being in a car accident on Tuesday.
Marleau was reportedly fine after the accident and his presence on the ice this morning confirmed that. He is good to go for Thursday vs. Tampa Bay.
McGinn (knee) will play on Wednesday.
McGinn missed the Avs' last three games after starting the season with three goals and two assists in 10 games. This is perfect timing for Colorado who just lost Alex Tanguay for two weeks because of a knee injury.
