Gaustad, 34, played 11 NHL seasons with the Sabres and Predators. Gaustad was mostly known for his face-off ability, having posted a career-high of just 36 points (10G / 26A) in 2007-08. The American-born centre had 89 goals and 142 assists (231 points) in 727 career NHL games.
Gaustad missed Thursday’s practice and will be held out of the lineup on Saturday. The Predators are expected to get a few injured players back that day so no call-up is expected to be forthcoming.
