Peter Regin News

Peter Regin will play tomorrow. Not sure who is coming out.

Look for Regin in the lineup tomorrow, perhaps in place of Nikita Filatov. Last season he only scored three goals and 17 points as he battled through inconsistency and injury. He should improve those totals if healthy all season.

Doesn't sound like Regin will play tonight but he is certainly close to returning to the lineup. Last season he only scored three goals and 17 points as he battled through inconsistency and injury. Look for him to start the season on the third line.

It doesn’t appear as if Peter Regin will be ready for Friday’s season opener. Regin was more active during Wednesday’s practice in London, Ont., but was still wearing a blue ‘no contact’ sweater. “He didn’t take any contact, but I thought he was more of a participant, which is a good sign,” said MacLean. “We’ll get a better read on it and see where he is (Thursday).”…

Sounds like Regin is close to returning but might miss the first couple of games. Last season he only scored three goals and 17 points as he battled through inconsistency and injury. While the Sens have an insurance plan in Mika Zibanejad, they likely hope their Danish playmaker can return to the 15 goal, 30+ point range.

Peter Regin returned to practice for the first time since injuring his left shoulder Sept. 28 against Toronto. He wore a ‘no contact’ sweater, but could return to the full workout Wednesday, giving him a chance of playing in the season opener Friday. “I think he’s getting close, maybe (Wednesday) or the next day,” said MacLean.

Sounds promising for Regin, who could be healthy for opening night. Last season he only scored three goals and 17 points as he battled through inconsistency and injury. While the Sens have an insurance plan in Mika Zibanejad, they likely hope their Danish playmaker can return to the 15 goal, 30+ point range.

Meanwhile, Peter Regin was also back on the ice – wearing a no-contact sweater – for ther first time since hurting his shoulder in an exhibition game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Peter Regin breathed a sigh of relief on Thursday. His left shoulder, injured when he was checked into the boards in a game against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday, is not seriously injured. He could rejoin the team for practice as early as Monday and possibly even be ready for the season-opening game against the Detroit Red Wings on Friday.

Regin's injury was initially deemed serious but sounds like a day-to-day ailment. Last season he only scored three goals and 17 points as he battled through inconsistency and injury. While the Sens have an insurance plan in Mika Zibanejad, they likely hope their Danish playmaker can return to the 15 goal, 30+ point range.

Peter Regin: Listed as day-to-day by team with his injury. But Regin needs to undergo further tests. Opening night in DET in question.

With Regin out, expect Mika Zibanejad to get a longer look. Last season, Regin scored three goals and 17 points in a season where he battled through injuries and a sophomore slump. If healthy, he could pot 15 goals and approach 40 points.

He had a miserable 2010-11 season, with just three goals and 14 assists, so everyone’s hoping Peter Regin can rebound and maybe, just maybe, take a spot on the second line.

Regin scored 13 goals and 29 points just two seasons ago, so the offensive potential is certainly there. In theory, with a talented winger like Nikita Filatov on his wing, 20 goals and 20 assists could be more than attainable.

During an informal game of pickup soccer today, Peter Regin appeared to hurt his ankle and had to be carried off the field by teammates Chris Neil & Zack Smith.

Tough break for Regin, who by all accounts was penciled into the second-line center position. Look for Stephane Da Costa or Erik Condra to get a look in that role should Regin miss a significant amount of playing time.
