The Sharks signed Radim Simek to a four-year, $9.0 million contract extension ($2.25M AAV) on March 9th.

Simek started the season on IR with a leg injury and missed more time in December after undergoing a knee operation. Overall, he missed 22 games, recording nine points (2G / 7A) with 1.9 hits and 1.3 blocked shots per game in 48 games. Signing a four-year extension means the Sharks have Simek, Brent Burns, Erik Karlsson and Marc-Edouard Vlasic all signed through at least 2024.

Simek will make his season debut on Tuesday.

Simek missed the first 15 games of the season after undergoing knee surgery in the spring but will play Tuesday vs. the Blackhawks. It has not been confirmed but he is expected to replace Tim Heed and suit up on the third-pair. Simek has one goal and eight assists (nine points) in 41 games this season.

The Sharks haver recalled Radim Simek from his conditioning assignment with San Jose (AHL).

Simek underwent knee surgery in March and was assigned to the Barracuda for a conditioning stint last Monday. The 27-year-old blueliner had two assists in two AHL games and his return to the Sharks suggests that he will make his season debut on Tuesday (vs. CHI) or Thursday (vs. MIN).

Simek (concussion) will be a game-time decision on Monday.

Simek has missed the last two games with a concussion but could be back Monday vs. the Kings. Simek is officially questionable so monitor his status as the Sharks hit the ice for warmups. Simek has recorded five points (1G / 4A) in 14 games since being recalled from the AHL.
