Ryan Wilson News

Avalanche coach Joe Sacco said veteran goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere will make another start in Tuesday's game against the visiting Minnesota Wild and defenseman Ryan Wilson will return from a groin injury.

Expect Wilson to draw back in. Through 33 games, he has a goal and 15 points. No word on which d-man draws out.

Avalanche defenseman Ryan Wilson was activated from injured reserve today and will be available when the team begins a consecutive-game road trip Friday at the Chicago Blackhawks.

Wilson last played on December 6th when he was hit by Maxim Lapierre. He should add another sturdy player to the Avs back end.

"He's starting to get back into the swing of things. It's his second day on the ice. He skated yesterday when we were in Minnesota. It's all positive, but still has a way to go . . . We all know with those type of injuries, we want to make sure we're taking the right steps before he (returns)."

Great news out of Colorado as Wilson could get back into the lineup within the next month or so. He has a goal and 14 points through 28 games.

NOTE: Paul Stastny (torso) and Ryan Wilson (head) out of the lineup for tonight's game.

Sounds like Wilson could be suffering from the dreaded 'C' word. The Windsor, Ontario native scored a goal and 14 points in 28 games while playing with Erik Johnson and seeing decent power play time. He could miss a few games.
