Steve Sullivan News

#Pens coach Bylsma: Kennedy and Sullivan game-time decisions for Tue.

Sullivan did not practice today instead allowing Sidney Crosby to skate in his place. The Timmins, Ontario native will need days off as the season progresses. He produced a goal and seven points through his first 17 games in a Pens sweater.

Steve Sullivan, a veteran winger signed by the Penguins in the offseason who had been hindered by a sore groin through much of camp, played in his first preseason game and got first goal. He manned the left side of the top line with center Evgeni Malkin and right winger James Neal.

Sullivan should be a valuable commodity while playing on the top line with Evgeni Malkin and James Neal. Last season, the diminutive winger scored 10 goals and 22 points over 44 games with the team. Expect around 20 goals if Sullivan can stay healthy all season.

One is to use Sullivan, a left winger signed as a free agent from Nashville in July, on the point of the No. 1 power play, replacing a defenseman

The Pens clearly see Sullivan as a LW, not a RW or C as he played on the Nashville Predators. Interesting to see whether fantasy hockey leagues give him the left wing position should he play there all season.
